Dan’s a great guy. People used to mistake him for David Eckstein. I worked with him with the Cardinals, and we became somewhat friendly and continued to correspond occasionally after I left the organization.  He was always very inquisitive about sabermetrics. I have not communicated with him in a couple of years, but I wish him the best of luck.  I’m sure he follows everything sabermetric on the web…
