Start with a premise. And ignore what saber-slanted fans REALLY think about Placido Polanco.

What’s so weird is how much Polanco is a saber-darling.
That’s just crazy.
1. MLB Trade Rumors is not a saber/stathead site.
2. MLB Trade Rumors author opinions do not speak for any group beyond themselves.
3. Placido Polanco probably gets MORE love from “statheads” than “non-statheads”.
4. The relative ease of the position switch from 2B to 3B probably gets more support from “statheads” than “non-statheads”.
It reminds me of the recent Boston-related site with the article about how Pedroia and Youkilis were blue-collar players proving the statheads aren’t always right. 100% wrong.
Youkilis was such a memorable figure in Moneyball fer cryin out loud.
Why do writers need to invent a storyline?
Why? Cuz they got nuttin’....
Not to mention, Pedroia was routinely “overrated” by PECOTA.

actually, what he did was start with a premise based on statements that didn’t even address his premise, then he argued against this premise by quoting some managers who offered vague generalities that could be said of any major leaguer who is not a pariah.
now i have a headache. thanks a lot!
