You might consider browsing the APBRmetrics forum at http://www.sonicscentral.com/apbrmetrics and Dean Oliver’s book Basketball on Paper.
The status of basketball sabermetrics (APBRMetrics) is 10-15 years behind baseball. For some reason, all the good analysts are quickly snatched up by the teams (maybe only because there are so few of them - analysts that is) and they are very proprietary about their work. Plus there are probably 10 times as many people working on baseball sabermetrics and 10 times as many people interested in baseball sabermetrics.
There are 3-5 good basketball sites. Google them.

I’ve never really seen any legit basketball sabermetrics before. Are there any sites you’d recommend for thorough statistical analysis of basketball? Are there any good primers out there?
