B A contrarian
You know the drill. Everyone agrees on A, so you say B. Most people say PUJOLS, and a few people say JETER. The gulf between Pujols and Jeter, hitting-wise, is enormous. Gigantic. Giganormous. Clutchy, they were the same in 2006. Baserunning? They are both probably good. Jeter is a better basestealer. Fielding? Put them both at 3B, LF, or RF, and they are equals, with Jeter an advantage in CF and probably 2B. Compared to say Berroa, Jeter at SS is the same as Pujols at 1B. Jeter is a good player, having the best season he could ever have hoped for. Pujols played like Pujols. For one year, Jeter can walk side-by-side with the gods.
I still believe Jeter brings more to the table than Pujols, and I’m a Red Sox fan! Like most though I respect what Jeter does for his club. He showed us what a real club captain and shortstop is all about the night Nomar sulked on the bench.
As for the above debate, you think Jeter and Pujols would be defensive equals at third base? Come on! Seriously. Not even close.
They are very different players, lets face it, obviously Poo-Jowels hits for more power, but if given the first pick in a fantasy draft I would still pick Jeter over him (and Ortiz before the both of them!!)
:o)
