Capitalism, unless I’m unduly affected.. then it’s socialism

Yes, the draft.  And, I was thinking about the potential for shenanigans with Bryce Harper not being signed, and the Nats simply getting the #2 pick next year.  Won’t be that good for them, as there’s going to be a dropoff.

Buuuuut.... what about for a team that will get an UPGRADE by getting the equivalent pick number next year?  It seems the Dodgers are doing it.

The draft is not something that we’d like to have for our own professions.  But, hey, sports is our personal play thing, LEGOs for adults.  Monopoly if you will.  And the college kids are Park Place and Boardwalk, for us to buy and sell.  Or Riga and Montreal these days.  (I highly recommend the World Monopoly… no more cash… everything handled through a credit machine.  Great game.)
