Canada and USA neck-and-neck

By Tangotiger, 11:57 AM

For those of you who don’t want to follow the hockey threads, this link gives you baseball-only threads:

Gabe has a recap.  Since 1996, and only considering teams between the big 7 powerhouses (the usual 6 plus Slovakia), Canada has scored 85 goals and allowed 70, but with a great 18-9 record, while USA has scored 2 more goals, allowed the same number of goals, but with a 12-13 record.  Basically, two extremely evenly matched teams over a period of 15 years, and one is either very clutch or there’s alot of luck involved.  USA won in 1996, Canada won in 2002, 2004, and 2010.
