Boring math stuff not worthy of a blog post

By Tangotiger, 02:57 PM

200.1 “innings” is really 200 1/3 innings, or 601 outs.  How do you convert 200.1 into 601?

Outs = 10 * IP - 7 * Int(IP)

where Int is the integer portion of IP.  So, the above would be:

outs = 10 * 200.1 - 7 * 200 = 2001 - 1400 = 601
