Book season: Fangraphs integrates their PDF with your online account
You gotta love the integration aspect here:
Bonus Material – FanGraphs has partnerned with ESPN Insider this season and if you purchase the PDF, you’ll have access to anything we write for ESPN Insider right here on FanGraphs.com up until March 1st, 2011.
Online Integration – In addition to the PDF, you will have access to all the information in the book on FanGraphs.com when logged in to your FanGraphs account. This information will include the written player profiles which will be integrated into the stats pages and all the articles and team previews in the book.
The cost is $7.95.
I see in the comments people actually want a book version, and they don’t want to print it themselves. In order to keep the integration aspect, that’s going to be a tough call. The print version at Lulu.com would probably cost $15, and Fangraphs makes no profit at that level. Really, why not do what I do with ebooks: print them at the office. I suppose then that those people who don’t have access to an office printer are going to be stuck. But, oh boy, that’s a tough situation to try to please everyone.
Basically, you’re trying to please as many people as you can. And it seems to me that what David is doing would be the way.
