I was asked to contribute an article to ESPN Insider.  Here’s the closing line:

Chavez, Punto, and Hairston will pretty much be unrecognized as excellent fielders ten years from now, but they stand as some of the best fielders in baseball this decade. And we’d know it more, if only they were better hitters.
