The sweet spot of making the playoffs

Very cool chart by vivaelpujols. Whitesox, Rockies, Cubs, Braves, Rays, Cardinals are the six teams most willing (or should be most willing) to overpay for talent, seeing that they are the ones that would be able to leverage new talent the most for making the playoffs.

Of course, the Redsox, Angels, Phillies, Yanks, are the ones most able to leverage new talent to increase their chances of going far in the playoffs.
