START Rushing Them To The Majors

Every year, someone complains about players being rushed to the majors.  All we have to do is look at the data.  Let’s see.


Here’s a 1200 word essay on the subject.  This picture is worth a thousand words.

Since 1901, the average age of a player’s first game is 24 and 3 months.  Over the last 10 years, it was 24 years and 9 month.

Since 1901, 20% of the debut players were under the age of 22.  Over the last 10 years, they were at only 10%.
