Aramis Ramirez
The Cubs can pay an extra 14MM$ to keep him on the roster. If they let him go to free agency this year, or next year, Cubs get compensation (Type B probably, but maybe Type A?). He’s 34 years old.
Realistically, he’d get a 1/12MM$ deal on the free agent market, or 4/40 (and by that point, likely no compensation). He’s not Adrien Beltre. He’s half-a-Beltre, really. So, really only two choices: pick up the option, or cut him loose.
